New York City

Transportation

Subway, Subway, Subway. And walking.

Food

Wow. Impressed. Here are just a few of the awesome places we ate at while in NYC.

The Bowl Game (Pinstripe)

This didn't go as well as I'd planned. For those that watched us we played 'okay' but a last minute call sent our team packing back to Manhattan Kan, instead of partying in Manhattan NY. It was fun anyway, and we headed to the Heidelberg after the game for some ethnic german food. This place was amazing. I ordered schnitzel of course with dumplings, and Lindy had knockwurst which was also very good. To go along with all of that we had a few liters of German brew, and Lindy was able to drink an entire .5 liter of Spaten Oktoberfest by herself!!!

New Years Eve

We didn't go down to Times square for New Years. I honestly want no part of that madness. Instead we opted for a nice dinner in uptown Manhattan at a very nice Italian place called Bella Luna. We had a three course meal ending with Lamb chops and a chocolate cake. It was a really awesome night. I've got some pictures up on flickr for now because FotoChest is currently undergoing a re-write. You can check them out by going here. The rest of the trip was pretty awesome, here's a little list of other things we did.

  • Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
  • Ate at Lombardi's pizza
  • Walked the Brooklyn Bridge
  • Toured 9/11 site.
  • Saw a broadway show - The Phantom of the Opera
  • Saw King Tut exhibit
  • Times Square
  • Good Morning America and Today show
  • Walked 5th avenue, bought nothing :)
  • Top of the Rock (Rockefeller center)
  • Central Park
  • MOMA and the Met?
